Manchester United owners the Glazers could be branching out into the world of cricket with rumoured interest in buying an Indian Premier League side.
The family have been majority owners of the Red Devils since 2005, and have faced stern pressure from supporters in recent seasons which culminated in protesters forcing a clash against Liverpool to be postponed.
That relationship could be tested further with the news that brothers Joel and Avram Glazer have 'displayed an interest' in buying one of two new IPL franchises.
The base price for each team at auction is said to be in the region of £195million, and will go on sale in Dubai on October 25 before joining the division in 2022.
The Sun reports news of the Invitation to Tender, with Forbes saying back in 2016 that the family were worth a mammoth £3.4billion.
A source told the Times of India: “Overseas investors are eligible to submit a bid if they meet the conditions. We don’t really know whether the Manchester United owners will come to the bidding table.
“What we certainly know is that they’ve shown interest. The IPL is a global entity now.
“People usually pick up these tender documents to study and gather information.”

Back in May, Joel felt the need to address fans following their complaints over the failed European Super League plans.
He said: "We remain committed to working with the wider football community to make the game stronger and more sustainable over the long-term, and we will now refocus our efforts on doing this within the existing structures of UEFA and the Premier League.
"In addition, I want to reassure you that my family and I care deeply about Manchester United and feel a profound sense of responsibility to protect and enhance its strength for the long-term, while respecting its values and traditions.
Our top priority is, and will always be, competing for the most important trophies, playing entertaining "football with a team comprised of top-quality recruits and some of the world’s best homegrown talent. Under Ole, we feel we are absolutely on the right track."
