Man Utd owners the Glazers preparing to hand Sheikh Jassim dream welcome gift
Ten Hag gives Man Utd team news update for Bournemouth trip
Manchester United owners the Glazers could hand the club over to Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani with the squad in promising shape, providing the Qatari banker’s takeover proposal is approved ahead of fellow bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Reported talks between the Red Devils and Neymar will be music to the ears of Sheikh Jassim, who is rumoured to be eyeing up a Paris Saint-Germain transfer raid if he lands at Old Trafford this summer.
Accepting the Qatari’s bid, which was reportedly increased to around £5billion last week, would bestow United with vast riches and significant power in the transfer market. Ambitious swoops for Kylian Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga have both been touted if Sheikh Jassim’s takeover bid progresses.
Neymar has also been linked to Old Trafford, and the Glazers could make progress on that front as French outlet L’Equipe claim that transfer talks are underway behind the scenes. Surrendering the club to Sheikh Jassim with progress made in negotiations would be a perfect welcome gift and a major statement to United’s Premier League rivals.
The big-money Qatari approach involves purchasing 100 per cent of the club, wiping their debt and setting aside huge sums for renovating Old Trafford and the training ground.

It is also expected to involve a series of ambitious transfer pursuits. Names don’t come much bigger than Neymar, and the Glazers could get a helping hand from United midfielder Casemiro, who is thought to be in contact with his international team-mate regarding a move to Old Trafford.
Sheikh Jassim reportedly wants to pair Neymar with high-flying winger Marcus Rashford, while recruiting a big-name striker to complete the front-three is seen as a high priority in United’s summer transfer plans.
The Brazilian currently banks a staggering £490,000 a week in the French capital, and while he still has two years left to run on his PSG contract, the Ligue 1 giants are supposedly open to negotiating a form of loan arrangement, with Neymar keen on pursuing a new challenge.
United boss Erik ten Hag could therefore begin next season with a rejuvenated front-line capable of competing with Manchester City and Arsenal. Rashford has racked up 29 goals in all competitions this campaign, but the Red Devils’ selection of central strikers have broadly underwhelmed.
Tottenham captain Harry Kane is thought to be United’s top target, but convincing Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to do business with a Premier League rival will surely be no easy feat.
Alternative targets are reported to include Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen, Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani and Atalanta youngster Rasmus Hojlund, who has a touted price tag of £40million.
