Man Utd remain interested in Eduardo Camavinga with Rennes ‘keen to cash in’

Manchester United are reportedly still interested in Eduardo Camavinga with Rennes believed to be keen on cashing in.

United were linked with Camavinga earlier in the transfer window, with many expecting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make midfield improvements this summer.

The Red Devils boss signed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane ahead of the new Premier League season, and it was expected that United would have to sell players in order to finance any more new arrivals.

But wonderkid Camavinga is still on their radar, according to a report from ESPN.

The publication cites reports from France which claim the 18-year-old could be about to leave his current club.

Camavinga has just a year left on his contract, and has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid following his impressive performances for the Ligue 1 side.

And Rennes are said to be hopeful of bringing in a fee for the France international rather than losing him for nothing next summer.

United are still keen on Camavinga, according to ESPN – although there is a feeling at the Premier League side that he is more interested in a move to PSG or La Liga.

However, with just seven days left of the transfer window his future is uncertain, with PSG having already signed several players including Lionel Messi, while there is a lack of funds for transfers at Spanish giants Madrid and Barcelona.

According to transfer watcher Fabrizio Romano, Rennes would be willing to sell the midfielder for €35million (£30m).

The journalist said on Twitter: “There are chances for Eduardo Camavinga to leave Rennes in the final 8 days of the transfers market.

“He’ll not sign a new long-term deal with Rennes, so they’re open to sell Camavinga for €35m fee.

”It depends on the offers in the next few days. Open race.”

If United need to sell players to fund a move for Camavinga, it appears unlikely they will sign him before the transfer window shuts next week.

The Red Devils reportedly turned down an approach from West Ham for Jesse Lingard last week.

And the only departures so far have been Axel Tuanzebe, Andreas Pereira and Brandon Williams, who have all left on loan.

Williams' temporary move to Norwich means Diogo Dalot is set to stay at United, after he spent last season on loan at AC Milan.
