Manchester United are having a busy transfer deadline day, with Alex Telles having joined from Porto and Edinson Cavani set to arrive on a free transfer.
Left-back Telles has penned a four-year deal with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, while Cavani is expected to sign for two years after the striker left Paris-Saint Germain this summer.
Their arrivals come at the end of a transfer window dominated by speculation around Jadon Sancho, with United looking unlikely to sign the winger after being unwilling to meet Borussia Dortmund's £108million valuation.
United are also in talks with Watford over Ismaila Sarr, and still have another 11 days to complete a deal for the winger due to an extended transfer window for trading with EFL clubs.
There are several shirt numbers available for Telles and Cavani – and for any other new arrivals Old Trafford.
And that includes the iconic number seven shirt – famously worn by club legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo, George Best, David Beckham, Eric Cantona and Bryan Robson.
Here, Mirror Sport takes a look at some of the shirt numbers available.
One of the most iconic shirts in world football given the list of legends to have worn it, the No7 shirt would appear to have been a natural fit for Sancho.
However, with Sancho now looking set to stay at Dortmund, Cavani will no doubt fancy the shirt as he bids to leave his own legacy at Old Trafford.
Of the numbers available, it's probably the one most appealing to a man of Cavani's standing in the game, with the 33-year-old striker having fired 341 club goals for Paris-Saint Germain, Napoli and Palermo.
Sarr would no doubt fancy his chances of filling some big shoes if he lands a move to United, as would Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, who has also been linked.
Of course, it could still have Sancho's name on it if United can succeed in a bid for the England ace next summer.
The shirt was most recently worn by Alexis Sanchez, who flopped after his January move to United in 2018.
The departure of Andreas Pereira to Lazio means the number 15 shirt is available.
While many squad numbers have positional connotations attached, Manchester United have had a variety of different players wear this shirt over the years, from centre-back Nemanja Vidic, to tricky winger Adnan Januzaj, and midfield Jack of all trades Pereira.
Telles’ shirt number at Porto was 13, but that is currently held by Lee Grant. The Brazilian left-back did, however, wear number 15 for a spell at Galatasaray earlier in his career and so this could be an option for him at Old Trafford.
The number three shirt normally associated with Telles' left-back position is currently held by centre-half Eric Bailly.
Marcus Rashford took the number 10 shirt in 2018, vacating the number 19 he’d worn over the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons.
Before Rashford, Danny Welbeck occupied the number, and it was also emblazoned on the back of Dwight Yorke's shirt during Manchester United’s historic Treble triumph of 1999.
It is a shirt number that comes with attacking connotations and that could make it a good option for Cavani.
The Uruguayan’s favoured number nine is held by Anthony Martial and so this might be the closest he can get to that.
There’s just something about the number 20 shirt at Manchester United.
It was, of course, the shirt number Solskjaer made famous during his celebrated playing career with the club. He wore it on that memorable night at the Camp Nou in 1999.
More recently, it was the shirt Robin Van Persie wore as he led United to the Premier League title in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season.
It might not be as revered as the number seven, but number 20 is a number for world-class goalscorers at Manchester United and so that might make it perfect for Cavani.
The Uruguayan would join some illustrious company in becoming United’s next number 20.
The number 27 shirt has been vacant since Marouane Fellaini left Manchester United for China, so this would be an option for any player signing for the Reds on transfer deadline day.
While a number of players have worn the shirt over the years, from Federico Macheda to Mikael Silvestre and even Gary Neville, it doesn’t come with much history or romanticism.
The opportunity is there for someone to give the number 27 shirt some meaning at Old Trafford, although being outside the 1-20 numbers does give the impression of a squad player.
This could be an option for Facundo Pellistri or Amad Traore should they arrive.

Angel Gomes held the Manchester United number 28 last season but vacated it after refusing to sign a new contract with the Old Trafford club and leaving this summer.
It hasn’t brought much fortune to those who have worn it over the years, with Morgan Schneiderlin, Alexander Buttner and Darron Gibson all occupying it for a spell. Anderson even wore it in his final season at the club.
It seems unlikely that Cavani would take a number so far down the pecking order, but just like the number 27 shirt it would be an option for a squad figure or for a young player looking to break into the first team reckoning.
