Manchester United star Edinson Cavani’s social media message could hint that he is set to feature against Everton on Saturday. Cristiano Ronaldo has largely laid claim to the starting spot up top since his summer arrival, although the experienced Uruguayan will be keen to make sure his team-mate does not have it all his own way.
United are still in the midst of a rocky spell at present, although Wednesday’s victory over Villarreal should restore some positivity to the squad.
Premier League wins are crucial if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is to keep pace with the big boys, particularly after last weekend’s defeat to Aston Villa.
Bruno Fernandes’ last-gasp penalty miss made the 1-0 loss even more painful, although Ronaldo’s Champions League winner was similarly dramatic.
A convincing win against Everton would undoubtedly help reduce stress levels at Old Trafford, something Cavani would naturally like to be a part of.

After posting a training video on social media, Cavani provided the caption: “Everything ready for tomorrow.”
While Ronaldo would be the favourite to start after notching five goals in five games since making his return to the club, Cavani is sure to get opportunities this campaign.
The Portuguese is well-known for keeping himself in top physical condition, but no 36-year-old is going to be able to play twice a week all season long.

It is not as though Cavani would be a major drop off in quality, given he has been heralded as a genuine success since making the switch from PSG last summer.
His predatory instincts in and around the box make him a nightmare for defenders to deal with, and last season’s 17-goal haul is testament to the fact that he still has what it takes to start at a top club.
If he was to be given a prominent role against the Toffees, he could be joined by Luke Shaw who was a surprise inclusion in the Red Devils’ matchday squad.
He sustained a shoulder injury against Villa last weekend and was struck down with illness during the week, so his return will come as a major boost for Solskjaer and co.
Whether he will be put straight back in ahead of Alex Telles, who scored a stunning volley in midweek, remains to be seen.
Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire are both two weeks away from re-joining the action, but United have adequate cover for both absentees.
The major dilemma for Solskjaer could therefore be who leads the line, with Ronaldo in hot form but potentially overworked and Cavani chomping at the bit for more opportunities.
With every point crucial in the race for Premier League glory, it is time for the Norwegian to earn his money.
