Manchester United transfer target Dayot Upamecano has confirmed he has held talks with other clubs over a move away from RB Leipzig but insists he is committed to the Bundesliga side for now. Upamecano has been linked with a move to United in recent weeks and was previously a target of Arsenal. The 21-year-old starred in Leipzig’s run to the Champions League semi-finals last season.
Upamecano signed a new contract at Leipzig in July, keeping him at the club until 2023.
But that has not stopped rumours of a potential move to Old Trafford.
And speaking to French outlet Telefoot, Upamecano addressed his future and claimed he was permitted to speak to other clubs regarding a transfer.
“For the moment I am with Leipzig but it is true that I was able to discuss with certain clubs,” he said.

Meanwhile, former United striker Dimitar Berbatov believes it is crucial Ole Gunnar Solskjaer strengthens in defence.
United suffered a shock 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace in their first Premier League game of the season, with centre-back duo Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire receiving large criticism for their performances.

Berbatov wrote in his Betfair column: “They need a centre-half, and probably further recruitment also to be competitive.
“At the end of the day, if Crystal Palace can score three past you, you are in trouble.
“As I said, if we only judge on this game, United need to buy a whole new squad! But we can’t over-react to one game on its own.
“They have less than two weeks until the window closes, and they can play some more games to figure out what they need in that time, but it’s not easy.
“It can be hard to sign players, maybe the players don’t want to come, it is hard to say, but their defence is what they need to work on.
“The goals they conceded at the weekend were poor defensive goals. If they don’t strengthen up, it will be a long season for them.
“They need someone alongside Harry Maguire, look at how impressive he has been since he came in, and he is now captain.
“They need someone who is fast, like Rio Ferdinand was for Nemanja Vidic.”
