Manchester United centre-back target Jules Kounde would push for a move to Chelsea if the Blues came knocking, reports suggest.
The young Sevilla star has gathered attention this season for his performances in La Liga and the Champions League.
Kounde, 22, earned a call-up to the France squad for the European Championships earlier in the summer, but played just once.
Speculation has been looming over his future for a number of months now considering his obvious talent, despite being under contract until 2024.
His contract does, however, include a release clause of £69million, though it is believed any interested team will try and get that fee down.
Tottenham have reportedly agreed to pay £25m for his services but include Davinson Sanchez in a swap.
However, Kounde is still said to be thinking about whether to make the switch or not, and it seems he would prefer to move elsewhere in London.
Spanish outlet Mucho Deporte, via Sport Witness, claims Kounde would push for a move to Chelsea if the Blues make a serious offer.
Sevilla are said to be willing to sell, as Kounde is their most valuable asset and they need to offload players before they can do any business of their own.
United seem to be lining up alternative targets for Kounde on the assumption that they will miss out.
Real Madrid's Raphael Varane seems to be their top target, with the Frenchman having just a year to run on his current contract.
Madrid are expected to accept a fee in the region of £40m for the 28-year-old, who is eager to make the switch to the Premier League.
United have been given permission to discuss personal terms with Varane, but are still yet to agree a sum with Madrid.
If United are to succeed in signing Varane, the door will be open for Chelsea to sign Kounde.
