Man Utd team news: Two changes vs Arsenal as Erik ten Hag makes bold debut calls
Erik ten Hag previews Arsenal v Man Utd clash
An impressive turnaround saw Manchester United come from two goals down to beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 last weekend, in a display that highlighted their frailties once again. Erik ten Hag attempted to reshuffle his ranks over the summer in order to add quality across the board, and the ex-Ajax boss may call on two stars to make their debut in order to provide a much-needed spark against a strong Arsenal side. Express Sport takes a look at how the Red Devils could line up at the Emirates Stadium…
Goalkeeper: Andre Onana
Although new signing Altay Bayindir was registered in time to feature this weekend, it is hard to see the ex-Fenerbahce star being thrown in at the deep end in North London. Onana will retain his spot between the sticks and will need to be at his very best if he is to keep the fierce Arsenal attack at bay.
Defender: Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot
United are battling an injury crisis in defence, with Raphael Varane joining Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia as absentees in the department. Lindelof is above Harry Maguire in the pecking order for United and thus most likely to partner Martinez in central defence.
Although Ten Hag revealed that loanee Reguilon trained with his new team-mates on Friday, it is hard to see him being thrown into the starting lineup and tasked with keeping Bukayo Saka under wraps on his debut. Thus, Dalot is likely to keep his spot as a makeshift left-back.

Midfield: Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes
Eriksen scored an important goal against Forest, but the Denmark international still does not appear to provide the balance required for when United face top sides. Sofyan Amrabat has been signed on loan to partner Casemiro in midfield as a result, but the deal to sign the Moroccan international was agreed late on Friday and thus he is not registered to face the Gunners. Given Arsenal’s attacking threat in midfield, Amrabat would have been the ideal player to bring into the side on Sunday.

Forwards: Antony, Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford
United supporters are likely to see their new striker in North London after Ten Hag announced that Hojlund has now recovered from a back injury and is fit to start against Arsenal. Although a tough ask, starting the 20-year-old may finally see the Red Devils frontline regain some sense of normality after spending the opening stages of the season without an out-and-out, traditional No 9. If not, one would imagine Anthony Martial leads the line initially before being replaced in the second half.
