Man Utd transfer round-up: Red Devils eyeing up Jan Oblak and Adrien Rabiot

Manchester United’s excellent form since the Premier League’s restart has been halted a little of late following defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final and a draw at home against West Ham.

A place in the top four remains in the Red Devils’ hands ahead of Sunday’s trip to Leicester, but it is clear there are still areas of the squad that could be improved.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be aware of that, and he will no doubt have identified several players as potential targets for this summer’s transfer window.

Here we take a look at the latest Manchester United rumours.

United interested in Oblak

United are still showing interest in Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, according to the Daily Mail.

Chelsea have also been linked with the Slovenia international, who is reportedly unhappy with decisions made by Atleti sporting director Andrea Berta.

The price tag may prove too much for United, though, with Oblak expected to cost the full £109million release clause in his contract.

Solskjaer is also likely to have Dean Henderson in his squad next season, following the 23-year-old’s loan at Sheffield United. He could compete with David De Gea for the No.1 position at Old Trafford.

United one of several clubs monitoring Juve midfielder

Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot is a potential target for United this summer, report Calciomercato.

The 25-year-old has struggled to establish himself with the Serie A champions since joining from PSG, making just 18 league starts this season.

And Juve are reportedly willing to “listen to offers for Rabiot” when the transfer window opens.

United could face competition for his signature from Newcastle and Everton.

Leeds linked with move for Romero

Newly-promoted Leeds could pursue a move for United goalkeeper Sergio Romero this summer, according to Argentinian TV station TyC Sports.

The 33-year-old could be demoted to third choice next season if Henderson returns from Sheffield United.

And that would suggest a move is the most logical option for Romero, who has been a capable deputy for De Gea over the last five years.

Marcelo Bielsa is reportedly considering a move for his compatriot as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of Leeds’ Premier League return.
