Manchester United have finally made their first signing of the transfer window, with Donny van de Beek moving from Ajax. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side aren’t done there, however, with Jadon Sancho and Dayot Upamecano also being eyed. Express Sport will now bring you the latest news and gossip coming out of Old Trafford.
Jadon Sancho tactic agreed
Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have agreed to go about Jadon Sancho negotiations in a ‘more respectful manner’.
That’s according to Bleacher Report, who say the Red Devils were unhappy at things being leaked early in proceedings.
As a result, United felt they were being pressured into meeting demands they’re currently against.
But though they’ve since signed Van de Beek from Ajax in a £40m deal, they’re hopeful Sancho will follow the Netherlands international to the Theatre of Dreams this summer.
United are said to be working on wage demands and agent fees.
And the £72m Chelsea are paying for Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz will be used as a guide to how much the deal for Sancho should be worth.

While United have been strongly linked with Dayot Upamecano, Sky Sports’ James Cooper has claimed he ISN’T on their radar.
Speaking on The Transfer Show, he said: “I think the other question mark of course is centre-back.
“I think they’d like to do business there. I’m told Dayot Upamecano isn’t on the list in terms of Manchester United’s potential acquisitions this summer.
“I think they’ve looked at him at 21 years old and yeah, he’s got the right profile. He’s just signed a three-year deal.
“I think it’s more likely Manchester United will monitor his progress and perhaps go back in for him next summer.
“But of course the problem with that is I think a lot more people will be anxious to sign Upamecano then than perhaps they are now.”

Man Utd bid for Real Madrid star
Manchester United have reportedly lodged a £26.8million bid for Real Madrid star Sergio Reguilon.
Sport in Catalonia say Solskjaer is keen to sign the left-back, despite having Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams on his books.
Reguilon impressed for Sevilla last season, helping them win the Europa League – beating United in the process.
And Real are said to be contemplating whether to sell him now or keep the youngster at the Bernabeu for one more season.
If they do, they’re hopeful his value will rise.

Van de Beek won’t see Pogba go
Former United coach Rene Meulensteen feels the club signing Donny van de Beek won’t push Paul Pogba towards the exit door.
“I can see where [people are] coming from, in terms of playing basically three attacking-minded midfield players in one midfield,” he told talkSPORT.
“In certain games, you can get away with it because good footballers will always find a way to play with each other.
“But if you come up against stronger opposition, then they will leave themselves short defensively because they are all not really defensive-minded players.
“I can see where [people come] from, so to insinuate does that mean Paul Pogba is gone? I’m not too sure.
“I think there has been so many speculations over the past two seasons, when it came to the end of last season it became a bit more obvious that Ole made it clear he wanted to keep Pogba. I’m not too sure whether he will go.”
