Man Utd’s ‘most likely scenario’ sees them miss out on another transfer target
Manchester United have potentially missed out on signing Saul Niguez with the 'most realistic recruit' now Eduardo Camavinga.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to add depth, to his midfield to challenge for the Premier League title, after securing his top two transfer targets in Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
But after splurging over £100 million to sign the duo the United boss is now strapped for cash, meaning any new recruits will have to wait until the Red Devils have shipped a few out the door.
As things stand the most likely outcome is that there will be no incoming midfielder at Old Trafford.
The report from The Athletic suggests that United may have to acknowledge that their summer business is now concluded:
"More signings after Jadon Sancho and Raphaël Varane are dependent on sales, and movement on that front is slow," states the report.
"Jesse Lingard has told Solskjaer he wants to stay and fight for his place at Manchester United.

"Lazio have enquired about taking Andreas Pereira on loan, with Fenerbache also in the running, but United are pushing for a permanent deal."
Lingard and Pereira appear the two most likely to leave Old Trafford this summer, in order to generate the much needed funds for a creative midfield player.
Yet the United hierarchy are finding it difficult to move on their fringe players; the Red Devils are yet to sell anyone this summer.
It means that any hope of United landing Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez has surely evaporated.
The Red Devils would struggle to match the £40 million price-tag set by the La Liga winners.
The report goes on to claim that Rennes' 18-year-old playmaker Eduardo Camavinga appears to be their most realistic recruit.
The youngster's contract expires in 2022 and so would be available at a cut-price fee.
