Manchester United and other top European clubs have been put off a deal to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to reports. Vlahovic is enjoying a stunning season in front of goal, scoring 16 times in 20 Serie A appearances. Arsenal are attempting to sign the Serbia international in this window.
Vlahovic equalled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for most Serie A goals in a calendar year in 2021.
So it is clear to see why a lot of clubs have enquired about the 21-year-old.
However, many have been put off by the demands of the player’s agents.
European football expert Gabriele Marcotti says Vlahovic’s representatives want up to £16.7million up front from the buying club.

They are also demanding a percentage of a fee from the striker’s next move.
Marcotti says that approach in particular is unusual and is why the likes of United are not pursuing a deal.
“The issue is the agents,” he said on the Gab and Juls podcast.
“We’ve talked about this before but the numbers that are out there are something like £12.5m (€15m) to £16.7m (€20m) in commission now to make this deal happen, plus they want 10 per cent on a future sale, which is extremely unusual.

“It creates a pretty dangerous precedent. This is what has turned off a lot of clubs.
“My understanding is a lot of clubs have enquired about Vlahovic.
“From Bayern, to Spurs, obviously the Harry Kane situation, to Manchester United, to Real Madrid. Not ‘we want to buy him’. Even [PSG] have been in touch.
“And then when they hear from the agents they’re like ‘we’re not going to do that’.
Arsenal could soon be in desperate need of a new striker. Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract in the summer, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also allowed to leave the club.
But Marcotti says Vlahovic’s agents are pricing themselves out of a deal, claiming the player is not on the level of the likes of Erling Haaland.
He added: “His agents say ‘we’re charging market rates, we’re in line with market rates’.
“They’re in line with market rates if your first name is Mino and your last name is Raiola and you’re moving Erling Haaland.
“Vlahovic is great but he’s not Erling Haaland, not yet.”
