Mbappe’s dismal reaction to being subbed will alarm PSG as ‘FreeMbappe’ trends

Kylian Mbappe cut a frustrated figure after being substituted in Paris St-Germain's 4-2 win over Brest on Friday – meaning fans are calling for him to be 'freed' from the club on social media.

Mbappe started and scored in PSG's victory at the Stade Francis-Le Blé, moving them 2-0 ahead on the night.

The France international, whose future in Paris has been the subject of speculation after he recently entered the final year of his contract, headed home from inside the box to open his account for the new season.

And after his side moved 3-1 ahead in the game, Mauricio Pochettino decided to bring Mbappe off with 10 minutes remaining.

With the win seemingly in the bag he was replaced by Angel di Maria, but he did not seem pleased with the decision.

Mbappe appeared unhappy as he strolled off the pitch in Brest, before TV cameras cut to him looking in a similar mood while sat on the bench.

As a result, fans quickly made sure that #FreeMbappe began to trend on Twitter.

Mbappe is reportedly attracting attention from Real Madrid amid doubts over his future in the French capital.

The 22-year-old has set his sights on departing PSG when his deal expires next summer, meaning Parc des Princes chiefs may need to cash in on him while they still can this summer.

Los Blancos are understood to be keen on taking advantage of his precarious contractual situation and bringing him to the Bernabeu.

Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Mbappe in recent months.

However, speaking before their win over Brest, Pochettino insisted his young star is "happy" at the club.

"I think Mbappe is in very good spirits. He is really motivated to have a good season. He is a PSG player, he is happy with us.

"What we are thinking, as I have been saying, is that Kylian is our player and I do not see that he is not here in the season that we started a couple of weeks ago.
