Mega rich Rishi Sunak’s net worth is more than Hamilton and Beckham combined

The UK will welcome its richest-ever Prime Minister while the rest of us toil in a cost-of-living crisis when Rishi Sunak takes up office – who is worth more than David Beckham and Lewis Hamilton combined.

Dishy Rishi will become the second Prime Minister in a row to move into 10 Downing Street without winning a general election after Liz Truss resigned just 44 days into her tenure. Challenger Penny Mordaunt did not garner enough support to launch a leadership bid while the Daily Star lettuce was cruelly denied the chance to run.

But as Sunak prepares to take over as this country's leader, he will not have to worry too much about moving costs with his estimated worth believed to be around £730million, according to The Sunday Times Rich List.

That would make him the richest Prime Minister of all time, smashing the 14th Earl of Derby, Edward Stanley, who was worth around £444m in today's money when he last lead the country back in 1868.

And the Richmond MP's wealth makes him worth more than Beckham and Hamilton – a travesty considering the joy that the two legendary sportsmen have brought to this country. Honestly, when has Rishi ever bent a free-kick from 25 yards out to secure us a spot at the World Cup?

Beckham is worth just under £400m while Hamilton has just over £250m to his name – a total worth of £650m. That means that even if the two of them combined their net worths, they would still be £100m short of Sunak's total.

But while Rishi prepares for the highest elected office in the country, he owes much of his wealth to his Indian tech heiress wife Akshata Murty and her stakes company Infosys, ran by her father.

As well as shares in a number of other companies, she also owns start-up incubator Catamaran Ventures UK. The couple have at least three homes in the United Kingdom, as well as a property in California that is valued at around £5.3m.
