Messi’s wife Antonela sizzles in bikini as PSG star enjoys Argentina winter trip

Fans flock in their thousands to see Lionel Messi perform his magic on a football pitch, but it was his wife Antonela Roccuzzo who stole the show with a stunning Christmas snap.

The superstar opted to go back to his roots with a winter trip with his childhood sweetheart with the Ligue 1 season currently on pause for the winter break.

The 34-year-old has not experienced the start to life in France that he was expecting after his move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Messi has largely disappointed in Ligue 1 so far, scoring just once and creating four assists for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

It comes after Messi signed a lucrative two-year deal with the Parisian outfit, earning him an eye-watering estimated wage packet of £1.2m-a-week.

He recently won his seventh Ballon d’Or crown after pipping Robert Lewandowski to the prize after starring for Barcelona with 30 goals in La Liga last season.

He also played a key role in Argentina’s first Copa America triumph for 28 years back in June.

And where better is there for the magician to celebrate having some well-deserved time off with his family across the winter break than the country where he remains a hero.

Messi was all smiles as he jetted off with his better half on a quick trip back home to Argentina, with Roccuzzo uploading two images for her 18.3m Instagram followers to see.

He was joined by PSG team-mates and compatriots Angel Di Maria, Mauro Icardi and Leandro Paredes as the trio boarded a flight to Rosario to meet their families.

The former Barcelona star posed for pictures with his wife Antonela, 33, as they celebrated the festive period in South America.

Roccuzzo looked stunning in a bikini that left little to the imagination and could not hide her delight with a wide grin alongside Messi.

She sat back with her foot dipped into the pool with Messi cuddling behind her in an adorable snap of the pair.

Messi and Roccuzzo tied the knot in 2017 in a lavish ceremony in their hometown of Rosario, Argentina, and have three children together.

He will not have much more time to bask in the Argentinian sun, however, as PSG return to action in seven days for the French Cup clash against Vannes.

Messi is likely to be rested and wrapped up in cotton wool in preparation for their crunch Ligue 1 clash against Lyon on January 9.

Pochettino’s men are almost in a league of their own and heading towards regaining the title with a 13-point lead over second-placed Nice after just 19 games.
