Mino Raiola drops another Pogba Man United exit hint

Mino Raiola gives his strongest hint yet that Paul Pogba is nearing a Man United exit, saying: ‘December is the month of dreams… and I can’t stop dreams’, just six weeks before he can sign a contract with Real Madrid, PSG or Juventus

  • Paul Pogba’s contract with Manchester United is set to expire in the summer
  • France midfielder, 28, has shown little willingness to agree to an extension
  • He is sidelined with a thigh injury sustained during training with France
  • Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has again stirred up speculation about a transfer
  • Player would be able to sign an agreement with another club in January
  • And Raiola declared that ‘December is the month of dreams’ on Italian TV

Paul Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has dropped the strongest hint yet the French midfielder could leave Manchester United, declaring ‘December is the month of dreams.’

With his current Old Trafford contract due to expire in the summer, Pogba would be able to sign an agreement to join another club this January.

Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and his old club Juventus are among potential destinations for a player who has failed to scale the heights after returning to United in 2016.

Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United has come into focus once again following remarks from his agent Mino Raiola that ‘December is the months of dreams’

And Raiola has yet again stirred up speculation with cryptic remarks in an interview with Italian channel Rai.

He said: ‘December is the month of dreams… and I can’t stop dreams, but it is better to not speak about Paul.

‘If some former Man United players don’t speak about me and Paul, they won’t work anymore.

‘It’s too early to speak about Paul Pogba’s contract. Let’s see what happens. I can’t stop anyone from dreaming.’

Pogba’s United career hit a fresh low when he was sent off in the 5-0 defeat by Liverpool

Pogba, 28, started the season in excellent form for United, registering seven assists in their first four Premier League matches.

However, his performances have tailed off as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team also slumped and his career at the club reached a fresh low when he was sent off for a poor tackle on Naby Keita during the 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool.

He was then taken off early by Solskjaer during a disappointing performance in the 2-2 draw away to Atalanta in the Champions League.

As well as being suspended for domestic games, Pogba then suffered a thigh injury while training with the France team ahead of this month’s World Cup qualifiers.

It means Pogba is likely to be sidelined until the New Year.

‘Well as you can see, I got a little injured – hopefully it’s not too bad, I’m probably going to do a scan in the next days to see how bad it is,’ Pogba said on Instagram last week, with the clunking of crutches in the background.

‘Yeah, we are here – but we are going to come back strong, you already know – we don’t lose faith, we don’t lose the positive vibe – keep smiling.

‘Everything happens for a reason, we are blessed still and we are going to come back and keep it up – that’s how it is, thank you for the support – all love, we are going to be back soon.’

One option for Pogba is to join Real Madrid with Marca reporting this week the Bernabeu club ‘remain attentive’ to his situation at United.

The former world-record £89million signing has come in for some stinging criticism in recent weeks, with Paul Scholes saying after the  Liverpool sending-off that Pogba should never play for the club again.

It’s far from the first time Raiola has whipped up speculation over Pogba’s future at United

Scholes followed up that remark by claiming that the ex-Juve man was ‘away with the fairies’ and that he would still be making the same mistakes aged 35 after a sub-standard display in the 2-2 draw at Atalanta.

It’s far from the first time Raiola has spoken publicly about Pogba’s situation at United.

In December 2020, he caused disruption for Solskjaer ahead of a crunch Champions League game against RB Leipzig by declaring that the ‘best solution’ would be to ‘sell him in the next market.’

Pogba duly started the match in Germany among the substitutes as United lost 3-2 and dropped into the Europa League.

Raiola twice intervened during the 2019-20 campaign, saying ‘now could be a good time to find a new challenge’ ahead of the new season in June and then ‘everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on’ the following month.

In February 2020, Raiola suggested that Pogba could rejoin Juventus that summer, sparking a war of words with Solskjaer, who said: ‘Paul is our player and not Mino’s.’

Responding on social media, Raiola said he hoped the manager wasn’t suggesting ‘Paul is his prisoner.’

Raiola added: ‘Paul is not mine and for sure not Solskjaer’s property. Paul is Paul Pogba’s.’
