Newcastle breezed through their return from the international break with a commanding 4-1 win over Chelsea.
Alexander Isak put the Magpies ahead at St James’ Park after Lewis Miley’s assist before Raheem Sterling levelled with a stunning free-kick in the first half.
Jamaal Lascelles and Joelinton scored a goal each inside two minutes around the hour mark.
Blues captain Reece James was sent off for a foul on Anthony Gordon after 73 minutes and ten minutes later the young winger grabbed Newcastle’s fourth goal.
The result puts Eddie Howe’s men hot on the heels of Tottenham and Aston Villa while Chelsea remain tenth.
