Newcastle ace Andy Carroll mocks Matt Ritchie to Bournemouth transfer in video

Newcastle striker Andy Carroll mocked talk of a transfer for Matt Ritchie to Bournemouth with a hilarious video while out for dinner with the Scot and new signings Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser.

Ritchie was being linked with a move to relegated Bournemouth, potentially as a makeweight for Wilson.

But the 30-year-old didn’t end up being part of the deal as Newcastle announced the signings of Wilson for £20m and Fraser on a free transfer.

Having ambushed the Cherries for two of their best players – Toon hero Carroll lightheartedly joked about Ritchie’s proposed move to the south coast.

The former Liverpool target man posted a video of the four of them out for dinner on Instagram in which he made the whole table crack up laughing.

He captioned the post with what he said in the clip, writing: “Ritchie To Bournemouth?? Don’t Think So!!

“We Bring Bournemouth To Ritchie.”

Wilson and Fraser, who signed within a day of each other, revealed their delight at joining Newcastle after penning four and five-year contracts respectively.

“From the minute I knew Newcastle were interested, it was definitely something that appealed to me,” England international Wilson told the club's website.

“It's a massive club with great history. Along the years, they've had great strikers so if I can emulate half of what they've done, I'd like to attempt that.”

While Fraser added: “I’m absolutely buzzing for it – I came down to see the place the other day and it was all just good things; the manager, the place, the fans, the messages I've been getting.

“It was just a no-brainer, really, to play in such a big stadium with such passionate fans, and being back up in the north again is big as well.”
