Newcastle and West Ham offered Italy hero Andrea Belotti on a free transfer

Italian football hero Andrea Belotti has been offered to West Ham and Newcastle on a free transfer, according to reports.

The 28-year-old is available on a free after leaving Torino last month following seven years with the Serie A side. Belotti scored 100 goals in 232 appearances for the Italian club, on top of his 12 goals in 44 appearances for the national team.

Belotti joined Torino in 2015 but has snubbed a new deal in favour of a new challenge elsewhere. According to The Sun, the forward and his representatives are eyeing up a move to the Premier League – with three clubs on their radar.

Moneybags Newcastle, cash-strapped Everton and upwardly-mobile West Ham have reportedly all been offered the star, who won Euro 2020 with Italy. The aforementioned trio are all in need of someone who can put the ball in the back of the net.

Despite their vast wealth, Newcastle face going into the new Premier League campaign with Chris Wood and Callum Wilson as their sole frontmen following the departure of Dwight Gayle to Stoke City.

Everton have their own striker crisis after losing Richarlison to Tottenham this summer. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Salomon Rondon are currently their only recognised centre-forwards.

Speaking about Richarlison's departure, Toffees boss Lampard said: "There is no doubt about it. When you think of where we were last year, we have lost a big player in Richarlison. We wish him well, but our club now continues. We know there is a void in forward areas, we are short in numbers there."

West Ham are also in the market for a new forward as a back-up to Michael Antonio. The Jamaica international scored 13 goals last season as the Hammers challenged for the top-four and went deep in the Europa League, but he is prone to injury problems and David Moyes could do with another option up-front.

Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca could be that man. West Ham have made a bid of £35million for the 23-year-old dubbed the 'next Zlatan Ibrahimovic'.

But if a move for Scamacca falls through, the east Londoners could do a lot worse than cast their eyes on Belotti, who would require an outlay solely in terms of wages and any signing-on fee.
