Newcastle supporters revelled in Liverpool’s early misery after it appeared assistant manager Jason Tindall hushed Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, before the visitors came from behind to win the game in stoppage time.
The hosts were on top at St James’ Park after Anthony Gordon opened the scoring in the 25th as the former Everton attacker pounced on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s mistake.
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk was then sent off minutes later after fouling Alexander Isak, with Klopp left fuming in the dugout.
Tindall had evidently had enough of hearing the German rant at the fourth official and put a finger to his lips as Klopp looked over.
Klopp appeared nonplussed by the gesture as he redirected his focus back to the pitch with Liverpool searching for an equaliser in the first-half.
