Newcastle may be forced to look abroad as Premier League clubs ‘refuse business’

Newcastle could face difficulty in splashing their newfound cash on players from the Premier League – as a number of top-flight clubs are reportedly refusing to do business with them.

The Magpies are being linked with a host of world-class names following their £300million takeover earlier this month, which has transformed them into a financial superpower.

As well as top players, they are also expected to bring in an elite-level coach in the near future having parted company with Steve Bruce last week.

Toon fans are now dreaming of rising up the Premier League table and competing for major honours under their new Saudi Arabian owners.

However, the Daily Mail claim they may be forced to sign players from abroad due to other top flight club's refusal to do business with them.

It is believed certain clubs are pledging not to trade with Newcastle in the January transfer window in the hope of condemning them to relegation.

Their fear of the Tyneside outfit becoming a Premier League juggernaut means they have come up with a plan to demote them to the Championship, which isn't completely unrealistic given they currently sit three points adrift of safety down in 19th.

Newcastle will therefore have to pay at a premium if they want to do business with a Premier League rival.

That will come as a blow to the new Magpies owners given they are already being linked with several top-flight stars, including Chelsea striker Timo Werner and Wolves defender Conor Coady.

Reports suggest Werner, who scored his first Premier League goal of the season earlier this month, has emerged as a top target ahead of the January transfer window.
