Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos has revealed that team-mate Neymar had pre-planned his controversial celebration after the French side advanced against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
Haaland had wreaked havoc on the French giants in the opening leg, scoring twice as Dortmund held an early advantage over their rivals. After his first goal, the 19-year-old adopted his meditation pose, a typical sight after the Norwegian scores.
Shortly after the first leg, Haaland, the son of former Manchester City star Alf-Inge, shared an image on social media that read: ‘My city, not yours’, an act that is said to have angered the Brazilian star.

Neymar lead a marvellous PSG performance to turn the tie around and see Thomas Tuchel’s side advance to the last eight. Amid the scenes of jubilation after the game, Neymar and his team-mates struck the meditation pose in a clear jibe at Haaland.
The 28-year-old followed up with a message to Haaland on social media, in which he wrote: ‘Paris is our city, not yours’.
And Marquinhos has revealed that the act was planned by his countryman before the game.
‘He likes that. Neymar is not just a football player, he is not afraid and always responds to provocations,’ the 25-year-old told Desimpedidos.
‘After his goal, I asked him if he had taken everything out. He warned me, I told him to wait until the end of the match, but he told me to leave it and not to stop it.’
Following the game, UEFA handed the French side a formal warning for ‘unsportsmanlike conduct’ while Haaland has remained quiet on the incident.
