  • Adam Idah scored twice in pre-season friendly against League One Gillingham

Norwich City were back in action after cancelling two friendlies due to positive Covid tests and eased to victory over League One Gillingham on Tuesday night.

Supporters were allowed back in Carrow Road for the first time since Norwich’s pre-Christmas fixture against Cardiff and the 10,962 crowd saw new signing Pierre Lees-Melou open the scoring in the ninth minute.

Todd Cantwell was on the edge of the box and the ball broke to Lees-Melou, who fired into the top left corner of the net.

Goals: Lees-Melou (9), Idah (36, 74), Rupp (62), Sørensen (89)

Adam Idah doubled their advantage in the 36th minute.

Midfielder Cantwell was involved again he hooked a pass over his head to Idah at the far post and he slotted the ball home.

Lukas Rupp scored the third just after the hour mark after Gilmour released Giannoulis and his first-time cross found Rupp inside the six-yard box.

Idah grabbed his second and Norwich’s fourth in the 74th minute by firing home a powerful shot.  

Jacob Lungi Soerensen sealed victory when he headed home Cantwell’s free-kick in the 89th minute. 

Norwich midfielder Lukas Rupp scored the third just after the hour mark at Carrow Road 

Midfielder Todd Cantwell was involved in three of Norwich’s five goals against Gillingham
