Norwich City have reportedly agreed a deal worth just over £8 million for Werder Bremen’s Josh Sargent, as Canaries boss Daniel Farke looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
The 21-year-old striker is expected to fly to England for a medical, however that may not happen till Monday.
Sargent won’t be part of Bremen’s squad for their DFB-Pokal cup tie with VfL Osnabruck, after not taking part in Friday’s training session. And the club’s sporting director Frank Baumann revealed the striker is close to leaving the Weser Stadium.

‘We are about to finalise a transfer with a foreign club.’ He confirmed.
‘Because of this, Josh told us that he wasn’t in the right frame of mind to play on Saturday. As a result, we let him go home from training.’
The American international was one of only a few players who consistently performed for Bremen last season as they were relegated from the Bundesliga.
Sargent has won 16 caps for the USA and is regarded as one of the county’s brightest talents
Sargent scored seven goals in all competitions last term, he also netted twice in first game of the new 2. Bundesliga season against Fortuna Dusseldorf last weekend.
He is regarded as one of America’s best young talents and has already amassed a total of 16 senior caps for his country.
Norwich will play their final pre-season friendly against Newcastle on Saturday.
The Canaries will kick-off their Premier League campaign at home to Liverpool on August 14.
