Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still keen on signing Jack Grealish despite the Aston Villa star breaking coronavirus lockdown rules last month.
Grealish was heavily fined by his club after admitting to ‘stupidly’ flouting the government’s guidelines on the coronavirus lockdown to attend a late-night party at the flat of ex-team-mate Ross McCormack.
Grealish was pictured after leaving a penthouse apartment, where he crashed his £70,000 Range Rover and damaged two parked cars, and he has since issued a grovelling apology on social media.
Jack Grealish was reportedly fined two weeks’ wages, totalling £150,000 for his act
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still keen on signing Jack Grealish for Manchester United this summer
But this has not put off Solskjaer from wanting to sign the £80million-rated Englishman according to ESPN.
The United boss is a fan of Grealish and urged executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to enquire about his availability last summer and in January.
Both approaches were knocked back but there is belief Villa may sanction a sale during the next transfer window, regardless of whether or not they stay in the Premier League this season.
Some clubs might have been put off by Grealish’s antics as just hours before heading out to the party, Grealish had posted a video to social media urging his followers to listen to the government’s advice and stay home.
He then ignored his own advice after receiving a phone call from his friend, and has since posted a second video, apologising for his ‘stupidity’.
In the follow-up clip, he said: ‘I just want to do a quick video message to say how deeply embarrassed I am about what has happened this weekend.
‘I know it is a tough time for everyone at the moment, being locked indoors for so long, and I just got a call from a friend asking to go round to his.
‘I stupidly agreed to do so. I don’t want anyone to make the same mistake that I did, so I urge everyone to stay at home and follow the rules and the guidelines of what we have been asked to do.

‘I know that I will be doing that in the near-future now and, like I said, I urge everyone to do the same.
‘I hope everyone can accept my apology and we can move on from this and, hopefully in the near-future, we can be out and enjoying ourselves again, once this has all boiled over.’
Sportsmail understands that Grealish’s £80m summer move to United is still expected to go through, however.
The Birmingham-born star has scored nine goals this season and set up eight for his team-mates in a struggling Villa side in all competitions.
Grealish is the club captain of Aston Villa and has been with his boyhood club since 2001
