Olympiacos centre-back Pape Abou Cisse is under consideration for Brighton among others. The highly-rated defender is being watched by Graham Potter, but the Seagulls manager will have to beat stiff competition from Watford, Nice, and Rennais to get his man.

The 26-year-old is valued at £15million by the Greek Super League club and is expected to leave this summer window.

Daily Star Sport understands West Ham had registered their interest as well, but their approach was some time ago and that interest has cooled off since then.

The Senegalese player has perked the interest of a whole host of clubs following a series of standout performances in the Champions League and Europa League for the Piraeus outfit throughout the years.

Last January, the defender was linked to a move to St James' Park, with Newcastle, thought to be the front-runners at the time, with Arsenal, Everton, Leicester and Liverpool also said to be keen.

The towering player has appeared in 131 games for Olympiacos since joining in 2017, even netting some 16 goals along the way. It now seems he is destined for a move away from the club.

He has 12 caps for Senegal and was part of the squad that captured the country's first Africa Cup of Nations trophy in February.

Meanwhile, the Greek giants will be snapping up Croatian defender Sime Vrsaljko – a full-back for La Liga club Atletico Madrid. His contract in Spain is up this summer and it is expected he will join Olympiacos.

As for Brighton, they have snapped up Paraguayan Julio Enciso for a reported £10.44m. The striker will help out on the frontline with Danny Welbeck and Neil Maupay. Last season Enciso made 17 appearances for Libertad Asuncion, netting 11 goals and providing three assists. He also helped his side win the league last campaign, lifting the Paraguayan Primera Division.

Manager Graham Potter said of the purchase: "Julio is an exciting young talent and he has had a great start to his career in Paraguay as well as being a regular in the Paraguay national squad."
