Only Lionel Messi and three men ‘not up for sale’ as Barcelona plan major revamp

Barcelona are only prepared to keep four players after Friday night’s 8-2 humiliation against Bayern Munich, with the rest all up for sale this summer.

The Catalans were torn apart by Bayern in the Champions League quarter-finals, conceding four goals in the first half-hour at the Estadio da Luz.

On-loan star Philippe Coutinho even got in on the act, scoring two late goals to compound his parent club’s misery.

After his side became the first team to concede eight goals in a Champions League knockout match, Quique Setien’s position as Barca boss is now in serious doubt.

Yet according to Spanish outlet Sport , Setien is not the only one facing the chop in Catalonia this summer.

It is believed Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu is planning a mass clearout at the Nou Camp following their shambolic display against Bayern on Friday.

Only Lionel Messi, Marc-Andre her Stegen, Clement Lenket and Frenkie de Jong are understood to be safe.

The Spanish giants were already planning to offload a number of first-team players anyway; including Ousmane Dembele, Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal.

Gerard Pique, who sensationally offered to quit the club after Friday’s defeat, is also up for sale at the Nou Camp this summer.

“Is it an end of an era, I'm not sure? But I know that we must accept that we have hit bottom,” Pique told Spain’s Movistar.

“Not just players the but, as a club, we aren't on the right road.

“We have had years of success but we haven't won the league and we haven't won in Europe and we have to compete. You've seen it on the pitch and this today is unacceptable.

“If I have to go in order to change things I'll be the first to accept that.
