Mesut Ozil will take a hefty pay cut to join Fenerbahce as his move to the Turkish giants edges ever closer.
The German and Arsenal look set to terminate his deal in north London which would free him up to move elsewhere, with Ozil having said goodbye to his current teammates on Sunday at the club's London Colney training base.
Ozil is poised to give up £7m in earnings as he cancels his contract six months early.
The 32-year-old earned north of £300,000-a-week at the Emirates having signed an extension in 2018.
At Fenerbahce though he is set to earn £3.5m-a-year, which is just over £65,000-a-week.
Ozil will get a hefty bonus for simply joining the Super Lig outfit however with a £4.5m fee being paid. That will be spread across three years.
Several other bonuses could be heading the German's way should Fenerbahce reap the rewards of his arrival.
Currently they sit second with goal difference keeping them behind league leaders Besiktas.
Ozil will pocket £445,000 if he can inspire the Turkish side to the title – which would be their first for seven years.
Last term they finished seventh but are in contention this term following an impressive first-half of the season.
In Turkey the top two qualify for the Champions League and that would pocked the former Real Madrid man a further £225,000, reports Sporx.
Fenerbahce have not qualified for Europe's elite club competition for the past two seasons.
The club's sponsors will contribute to paying the playmaker's salary who has long been linked with a move to Turkey.
Ozil has not played since March having been frozen out by Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
The Gunners boss opted to leave the German out of his domestic and European squads which made his departure seem inevitable.
Ozil has previously stated his intention to see out his contract but looks set to opt out early.
