The Premier League will announce the complete fixture list for the 2021/22 season at 9am on Wednesday, June 16. All 20 English top-flight clubs will eagerly anticipate their fate, but in the meantime, the Express Sport supercomputer has predicted how the opening day will look.
The new Premier League campaign kicks off on August 14 and will run through to the final day on May 22, 2022.
Things will return to somewhat normality next term after the 2020/21 season started a month late due to COVID-19 delays.
Last season took place across nine months instead of the usual 10, leading to fixture congestion and, at times, bizarre scheduling.
Clubs will be looking forward to a less hectic period and will hope to start proceedings with a positive result in August.
The Express Sport supercomputer has tipped the opening weekend to throw up some exciting fixtures.
JUST IN: Tottenham may have ended chances of Pochettino ever making return
Reigning champions Manchester City are predicted to kick off their defence by welcoming Leeds United to the Etihad Stadium.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side were victorious in East Manchester this season, so it’d be an intriguing match-up to start with.
Arsenal’s league campaign will be uninterrupted with no European football, and the supercomputer has tipped them to start at home against London rivals Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, European champions Chelsea will host Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool will travel to Molineux for Bruno Lage’s first game in charge of Wolves.
The supercomputer’s fixture of the weekend comes from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where the hosts will start a new era against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United.
With Paulo Fonseca set to arrive as head coach, it would be a tricky first test against a side that finished the 20/21 campaign unbeaten away from home.

Elsewhere, two newly-promoted sides are predicted to face off, with Brentford hosting Watford.
The other promoted side, Norwich City, start by hosting Everton, who will be one of a few clubs starting the season with new managers.
Leicester City and West Ham United, the Premier League’s Europa League representatives next season, have both been predicted home games.
According to the supercomputer, the Foxes will host Newcastle United, whilst West Ham welcome Aston Villa to the London Stadium in a tasty opener.
