The Premier League’s all-time goals per game top scorer has been revealed and fans will be shocked to find out that it’s not in fact Alan Shearer.

Although the former Newcastle and England legend is the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer with a staggering 260 goals – 52 ahead of second-placed Wayne Rooney, who has 208 – the all-time goals per game top scorer is none other than Thierry Henry.

Daily Star Sport took the list of the Premier League’s top 50 goalscorers, before looking at their goals per game ratio.

And although Henry has scored some 84 goals less than Shearer, the former Arsenal forward came out on top with a ratio of 0.68 goals per game making the consistent striker in the Premier League’s history.

Ex-Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero – who left the club in favour of a move to Barcelona this summer – is joint second in the list alongside Harry Kane who has 0.67 goals goals per game respectively.

Kane is also the only current Premier League player in touching distance of Henry’s all-time goals per game record and the 28-year-old has the potential to eclipse the Frenchman at the top of the chart before retirement.
