PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino wants a return to the Premier League and a reunion with former side Tottenham, according to reports.

Pochettino’s future at PSG has faced speculation in recent months and the Argentine has been strongly linked to the Manchester United job.

The Red Devils are currently looking to appoint a new head coach once interim manager Ralf Rangnick leaves his post at Old Trafford in May.

Pochettino is said to be in the running for the vacancy alongside Ajax’s Erik ten Hag, manager Carlo Ancelotti and Spain head coach Luis Enrique.

However, PSG chief Leonardo recently insisted the French side have made no plans to replace Pochettino at the helm, and the boss himself has no plans to leave.

But talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil claimed Pochettino would prefer a return to Tottenham over taking the position at United.

‘Pochettino is not going to United – Man United have been warned by PSG sporting director [Leonardo] that Pochettino has no intention of leaving Paris,’ he said.

‘Well, I tell you right now, that is not the case.

‘From the horse’s mouth, Poch wants to come back to the Premier [League] and he wants to come back with Tottenham.

‘He wants to come back to Spurs, I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but it’s what he wants.’

Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham back in 2019, having guided the club to the Champions League final during his first stint at the club.

He is said to still have a good relationship with the club’s chairman Daniel Levy, who reportedly tried to bring him back before appointing Nuno Espirito Santo.

The north London side appointed Antonio Conte after the Portuguese’s ill-fated reign but his recent emotional post-match outburst have left his position at the club in doubt.

According to Brazil, Pochettino would not turn United down but in his heart wants a return to Spurs.

‘I’m not saying Poch won’t go to [Man] United, because if he can’t get back to Spurs and United want him, he’d be a fool probably to say no.

‘But I do know, in his heart, he wants to come back to Spurs.’
