PSG have no space for Cristiano Ronaldo as Portugal star seeks Man Utd exit

Cristiano Ronaldo has been told PSG have 'no space' for him after he was offered to the club by super-agent Jorge Mendes.

The wantaway Manchester United superstar is desperate to leave Old Trafford in a bid to spend the last few years of his glittering career playing in the Champions League. The only trouble is … Champions League sides don't seem to want him.

According to reports in France, PSG told Mendes a move for the 37-year-old was impossible after having brought his eternal rival Lionel Messi to the club last summer to form a frightening (on paper, at least) front-three with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Both Chelsea and Bayern Munich, who began monitoring Ronaldo's situation after he handed in a transfer request last month, also appear to have decided against making an approach, leaving the veteran with very few viable options.

Napoli, Roma and Sporting Lisbon have been sniffing around, but the Portugal international would likely have to take an astronomical pay-cut to join any them.

Furthermore, new United boss Erik ten Hag insists Ronaldo isn't for sale, telling reporters during his first pre-season press conference on Sunday that the forward is very much in his plans for the new season.

"We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that's it. I'm looking forward to working with him," the Dutchman said. "Cristiano is not for sale. He is in our plans and we want success together."

The pair spoke on the phone after Ten Hag was confirmed as United's new manager back in April but there's been no contact between them since Ronaldo informed the club of his desire to leave in June.
