Rashford opens up on potential Man Utd link-up with transfer target Jadon Sancho

Marcus Rashford has opened up on the transfer speculation linking Jadon Sancho with a move to Man Utd.

The pair have linked up previously on England duty, with Sancho now expected to return to UK shores this summer to test his talents in the Premier League.

United are one of the lead candidates to seal a deal for the Borussia Dortmund star, and are reportedly prepared to break their club transfer record.

And Rashford has been buoyed by the rumours and admitted he was keen on the idea of Sancho linking up with him and striker partner Anthony Martial in United's attack.

Speaking on an Instagram Q&A with Bleacher Report, Rashford said: "It obviously would be good, Sancho's a great player, a new generation player.

"It's definitely exciting to watch him become the player he's becoming.

"Hopefully we can all play together that would be good."

Asked what it was about Sancho that set him apart, Rashford added: "He plays off the cuff, he's creative, imaginative, I think they're the things you need to do to be world class."

Dortmund have made it clear they will not accept anything less than their asking price for the winger despite the current economic uncertainty.

Sancho is valued at around £100-120million, which would significantly eclipse the £89m United paid for Paul Pogba in 2016.

United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged his former club to go all-out to sign Sancho and Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
