Rashford’s camp ‘upset’ with Solskjaer over comments on Man Utd star

Marcus Rashford's camp reportedly took issue with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after comments the Manchester United manager made about the forward.

The England international has had a tough few months in football after recovering from a shoulder operation.

The injury problem was only addressed after Euro 2020 but it was clear the issue had hampered his performance on the pitch.

Off the pitch, Rashford has been commended for his brilliant charity work – particularly after helping feed children whose families could not afford school meals.

But Solskjaer admitted that he wanted the striker to prioritise his football, which sparked some backlash from fans.

And that has extended to Rashford's camp, who are upset with the United manager's comments.

According to The Athletic, though they understand that the wider context of Solskjaer's words praised the Englishman, it placed him at the centre of a media storm over the weekend.

Many have noted that Rashford has a fierce determination over his training while the report states that his representatives are not pleased with the Red Devils manager.

Criticisms levelled at the forward for his charity work have often taken on a notion of 'sticking to the day job' and Solskjaer's comments, though meant to be harmless, has given that argument more weight.

Rashford made his comeback from injury at the weekend and managed to score with a well-timed run from Victor Lindelof's extraordinary pass.

However, it was in vain as United were swatted aside by Leicester in an enthralling match at the King Power Stadium.

The Red Devils succumbed to a 4-2 loss to pile on the pressure for Solskjaer despite Mason Greenwood striking first with a fantastic drive.

Youri Tielemans equalised with his own sublime strike before a bonkers five-minute gap late on that saw Calgar Soyuncu scored from a corner before Rashford equalised but just seconds later Jamie Vardy netted straight from kick-off.

Patson Daka made sure of the results in the 91st minute to leave United sixth in the Premier League.
