Real Madrid have been heavily linked with Paul Pogba in recent months as they look to take the Manchester United star to the Bernabeu. But if they can’t get a deal over the line they will turn their attentions elsewhere next summer.
Pogba’s contract at United comes to an end in 2022 and he has been reluctant to sign a new deal at the club.
The Red Devils are desperate for the midfielder to put pen to paper to avoid facing the prospect of losing him for free.
Pogba will be able to talk to other clubs in January and the player is reportedly keen on a move to Los Blancos.
A switch to Real could give Pogba a new lease of life and help him rediscover his finest form after being hampered by inconsistent performances during his five years at United.
But if Real don’t sign the 28-year-old, president Florentino Perez will instead turn his attentions to Valencia’s Carlos Soler, according to Defensa Central.

Soler has been instrumental for Valencia in recent seasons and struck 11 goals and eight assists in 32 La Liga games last term.
He has scored in all three of his side’s league games this season, with Valencia one of six sides to have opened the current campaign with two wins and a draw.
The midfielder’s early-season form was rewarded with a call-up to the Spain squad ahead of their World Cup qualifiers earlier this month.
Soler scored on his debut for his country in the defeat to Sweden last Thursday and notched another in his second appearance against Georgia.

He also played against Kosovo and appears to have a big future on the international stage.
The 24-year-old has played 188 games for Valencia and is now starting to attract interest from Europe’s elite.
Soler’s contract at Valencia runs until 2023 but he apparently has a release clause of £128million.
Real are unlikely to spend that much on the player, but Valencia may be willing to let him leave on the cheap next summer rather than allow him to run his contract down and eventually depart for nothing.
Madrid could be set for a productive summer in the transfer market next year.
They are determined to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain, while they are also likely to show interest in Erling Haaland when his £68m release clause becomes active next year.
Real currently find themselves at the top of the La Liga table and are chasing their third league title in six years.
