Sheffield United are in talks to sign former Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira.
The 23-year old left Elland Road to join Sampdoria in a £7million deal in 2018 but spent part of last season on loan at Verona with an initial view to make the move permanent.
Now Sheffield United coach Slavisa Jokanovic and head of recruitment Paul Mitchell want to bring Vieira back to Yorkshire to bolster their promotion drive.

The former England U21 international is keen to play more regular football again and is attracted to the project under Jokanovic who has already impressed players and staff with his training methods.
Jokanovic wants at least another midfielder and a centre back before the season kicks off with Manchester United’s James Garner one option plus Liverpool’s Ben Davies.
The Bramall Lane club are expecting interest in fit-again midfielder Sander Berge and have rebuffed Arsenal’s bids for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
The Blades have also been linked with a move for Manchester United midfielder James Garner
