Guardiola hasn’t been a happy man recently and it’s easy to see why.

The City boss remains without Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho and Benjamin Mendy.

Nathan Ake has made the bench today, though has struggled for most of the week with a thigh issue and is not expected to feature.

It’s a strong line up for the hosts, who are boosted by the return of Max Lowe, who is back after missing the trip to Anfield with concussion.

He replaces John Lundstram who drops to the bench.

Starting XI: Ramsdale; Baldock, Basham, Egan (c), Stevens, Lowe; Berge, Ampadu, Osborn; McBurnie, Brewster

Subs: Verrips, Sharp, Lundstram, Burke, McGoldrick, Robinson, Norwood

De Bruyne captains the side for the visitors, as summer signing Ferran Torres starts in the forward line.

Starting XI: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo, Rodrigo, De Bruyne (C), Bernardo Silva, Torres, Mahrez, Sterling.

Subs: Carson, Stones, Ake, Gundogan, Zinchenko, Foden, Garcia

And welcome to some early Premier League action.

It’s exactly what this gloomy Saturday needs, and we could have quite a fixture in store.

Sheffield United are desperate for a first win of the season, and last year’s surprise package side will definitely fancy their chances against an off colour Man City.

Pep Guardiola’s men haven’t looked themselves this season, and their last outing saw a disappointing draw with West ham.

Here’s hoping for an explosive encounter to start the day’s football with a little zest. Team news coming up in just a moment…
