Soccer AM’s hottest-ever Soccerettes – from glam model to Sky Sports presenter

  • It might have aged about as well as a carton of milk on a rooftop in Nairobi but Soccer AM’s ‘Soccerette’ segment was undisputedly iconic.

Salacious lad banter was typically at the epicentre of the Saturday morning show and the Soccerettes epitomised that. For those out of the loop, basically every week a young female fan would strut out wearing a footy top to answer a bunch of innuendo-laced questions as everyone in the studio gawked. Hard-hitting stuff.

With Soccer AM set to close its doors today after 29 years on the air, we feel a titillating stroll down memory lane is order. So without any further ado, here are some of the hottest former Soccerettes and what they’re up to now – and look out for some famous faces!

    1. Natalie Sawyer

Natalie Sawyer appeared on the show a couple of times, and it’s little surprise given that she worked for the company back then!

The soon-to-be Sky Sports News presenter has been a proud Brentford fan since before it was cool and wasn’t afraid to let the world know on Soccer AM.

    2. Sawyer spent eighteen years at Sky Sports before leaving for talkSPORT in 2018. She also worked on The Times’ The Game podcast.

Having been married to ITV commentator Sam Matterface until 2014, she is now in a relationship with former Blackburn, Leeds and Brentford midfielder Jonathan Douglas.

    3. Gemma Atkinson

Glamour model Gemma Atkinson rocked up on Soccer AM as a Bury Soccerette back in 2007, sporting their ironically unglamorous brown away shirt. Yuck.

Having been regularly included in FHM’s world’s sexiest women list during the mid-to-late the 2000s, Atkinson soon turned to acting … Gemma Actingson anyone? (*crickets chirping*)

    1. The 38-year-old has since featured in both Hollyoaks and Emmerdale, and met her current partner Gorka Marquez while participating on Strictly Come Dancing.

She returned to Hollyoaks as Lisa Hunter in 2022 and also presents the drive time slot across the Hits Radio Network with Mike Toolan.

    2. Lucy Pinder

Lucy Pinder was a multi-time Soccerette, and considering her prominence in lad mags such as Nuts, FHM and Zoo it was little wonder.

She’s a proud Southampton fan (sorry about this season, Lucy) and made no secret of it during her on Soccer AM appearances.

    1. Jennifer Metcalfe

Jennifer Metcalfe made her Soccer AM debut in 2004 donning the shirt of her beloved Bradford City.

    3. Peta Todd

West Ham-loving Peta Todd was just 21 when she first appeared on Soccer AM in 2008.

At the time, the Page 3 model had just come back from Afghanistan where she’d been supporting the troops via the Help For Heroes charity.

    1. In the years since, Peta has continued her charity work, raising thousands by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, skydiving and running the London Marathon, earning herself an award for outstanding contribution to charity, which included a personal meeting with Prince William.

In 2013 she married Olympic cyclist Mark Cavendish and the couple have four children together. She also has another child from a previous relationship.

    2. Kelly Kelly

WWE star Kelly Kelly, whose real name is Barbie Blank, made an appearance on the show in 2010 during the wrestling company’s tour of the UK.

The American didn’t know the first thing about football, so the producers, for laughs, handed her the most obscure club shirt they could find, Carlisle United’s.

    3. Sadly, Kelly Kelly hasn’t been spotted down Brunton Park in the years since, but that’s probably because her WWE career took over shortly after, with her crowning achievement winning the Divas Championship in 2011.

She left the company in 2012 but continued wrestling on the independent circuit for a number of years before hanging up her boots in 2018. These days she’s a social media influencer and has a whopping 1.3million followers on Instagram.
