Solskjaer’s plans to integrate signings and Euro 2020 stars into Man Utd camp

Manchester United are reportedly set to base themselves in Scotland as they prepare for the new Premier League season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will travel to St Andrews at the start of next month where they will train at the university facilities used by Dundee United.

The Reds are scheduled to then play their opening game of the season on August 14 where they will host Leeds United.

The Sun reports Man United will have all of their players available for the training camp, with several stars returning from international duty and new signings also getting their first chance to integrate with the squad.

New-boy Jadon Sancho, 21, is likely to be there as he trains with his United teammates for the first time.

The skilful winger’s transfer is expected to be confirmed imminently following his £73million transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

England’s Euro 2020 heroes Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire are also expected to re-join the squad after their holiday breaks, with midfielder Scott McTominay returning after representing Scotland at the tournament.

Meanwhile Marcus Rashford’s availability will depend on whether the forward opts to have surgery on his shoulder, which could leave him out for the first two months of the season.

United will also hope to complete any other transfers in the coming weeks prior to the season’s start.

The club are currently holding personal talks with Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, 28, who they hope to sign as a partner for Maguire.

They are yet to come to an agreement with Varane though the player is reportedly keen on completing the move, having spent a decade in Madrid.

Los Blancos are also willing to let him leave due to the player only having a year left on his contract.
