Spurs target Adama Traore could be given green light to leave Wolves in 24 hours

Adama Traore could get the green light to leave Wolves in the next 24 hours.

Tottenham head a list of clubs interested in signing the 25-year-old Spain international who has also been linked with a return to Barcelona.

Though Wolves have insisted they don’t want the flying winger to leave, they have now completed a deal for Estoril’s Chiquinho, another wide man with rapid pace.

But with Traore valued at around £25m and still holding out on signing a new deal, the arrival of Portugal Under-21 star Chiquinho could ease the way for his departure.

Tottenham have been looking to take Traore on loan until the end of the season but Wolves are adamant that is not an option.

Chiquinho completed a £3m move on Monday, which gives Wolves boss Bruno Lage immediate cover if Traore does end up leaving Molineux.

The 21-year-old is well known to fellow countryman Lage after spending 10 years in Sporting Lisbon’s academy before moving to Estoril.

He put pen to paper on a four-year deal and says he has been inspired by his fellow countrymen who have also represented Wolves on the wings.

"I’m very excited, but I feel a lot of pressure because it’s a big team, it’s a big club, but it is more important that I come here and do my best," Chiquinho told Wolves' official website.

Would Adama Traore be a good signing for Tottenham? Let us know in the comments section.

"It’s a big stadium and I feel a lot of fears because it’s a big team, but I will do my best for the club and enjoy playing here.

"There’s a lot of good Portuguese players in Wolves, and I have been inspired by them. I will also take a lot of advice from them, so it’s good.

"I want to achieve all I can because it’s a big opportunity for me. What I can do, I will do, so if I can score 10 or 20 goals, and if I can get six, 10 or 20 assists, then I will do."
