Thomas Partey’s representatives have confirmed that there have been ‘no conversations’ between the midfielder and Arsenal, after reports linking him to the Gunners.
Arsenal were reportedly willing to activate his £43million release clause and double his salary to £130,000-a-week, however Partey’s management team have been keen to put those rumours to bed.
Partey’s father recently claimed that talks were underway, but a statement released on Thursday said ‘there is absolutely no truth’ in these claims and that they were ‘misinterpreted to suit an agenda.’

The Ghanaian has been heavily linked with a summer move to the Emirates and has a £43million release clause in his current deal – enticing the Gunners to bid for the combative midfielder.
Partey’s father had told radio station Tru FM: ‘I called my son after hearing the rumours and he told me that the rumours are true.
‘He told me they are holding talks between him and Arsenal. It all depends on the offer Atletico are demanding. If he goes to Arsenal fine, they have a lot supporters in Ghana.
‘I will be happy if he decides to move to Arsenal. What they are discussing now is how Atletico will release him.’
However, Partey directed his Instagram followers to read Thursday’s statement from his agent, which said: ‘[The] father of Thomas Partey might have said something but can we also put aside and respect the official communication from his management, JJS Sports.

‘The fact is that, any statement heard was an opinion clearly misinterpreted to suit a particular agenda. There has been nothing officially communicated or no such conversations between the player and anybody.
‘There is absolutely no truth in what the player’s dad was alleged to have said.’
The 26-year-old has been an important member of Diego Simeone’s team in La Liga this season, starting 21 times and scoring twice – putting on a series of combative displays in the middle of the park.
Partey’s last game came in Atletico’s Champions League win over Liverpool at Anfield in March, producing an excellent display. The Reds were frustrated against a stubborn Atletico side as Partey smothered their attacking play.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is in need of a reinforcements in midfield with question marks over a number of stars, including Mateo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira.
