Tottenham are expected to return with a second bid after they reportedly saw an £6.8million offer rejected by Granada for defender Domingos Duarte. The Portuguese international, who came through the ranks at Sporting, has starred in La Liga since joining the Spanish club back in 2019 following a successful loan spell with Deportivo La Coruna.
Reports in Spain emerged several days ago, documenting Tottenham’s potential interest in the 26-year-old.
Technical director Fabio Paratici is working hard to bring in another defender for Nuno Espirito Santo and it looks like Duarte could now be the man.
Spurs held extensive talks to sign Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu for around £15million.
The deal then stalled when Tomiyasu headed off to the Olympics and it’s yet to have been revisited.

Now AS (image below) in Spain claim Tottenham have seen a bid of £6.8million rebuffed by Granada for Duarte.
It’s understood Spurs are expected to return to the table with an improved offer.
Duarte’s release clause is around £25.7m meaning Granada are unlikely to let him go cheap.
The report does state that Granada are willing to listen to offers though, offering Spurs hope they can complete a deal.

Davinson Sanchez’s excellent form and revitalised partnership with Eric Dier at the back has eased the need for another centre-back.
Cristian Romero is still lacking sharpness following his arrival from Atalanta and Nuno Espirito Santo is still open to the idea of adding another centre-back.
Sanchez looked as though he could follow Toby Alderweireld out the door earlier this summer.
Sevilla and Atalanta were amongst the clubs to show an interest in the Colombian international who is now expected to stay put.

Spurs are also working on a number of other deals in the background as the hard work continues in north London.
The club have now agreed a fee of £12.8million for Metz wonderkid Pape Sarr.
He will spend the rest of the season on loan at his current club before joining up with Spurs next season.
Tottenham have also seen an initial loan offer for Adama Traore rejected by Wolves.
The bid included an option to buy but Spurs may have to change that to an obligation in order to twist Wolves’ arm.
