Tottenham fans have a theory on Harry Kane’s future after Son Heung-min’s new contract was confirmed on Friday. Son was approaching the final two years of his previous contract at Tottenham with negotiations taking place for several months on new terms.
Spurs were desperate to keep Son at the club for the foreseeable future, and they’ve now finalised terms on a new contract.
His new deal takes him up until the summer of 2025 in north London and Fabio Paratici was delighted with Son committing to the club.
“We are pleased to have agreed a new long-term contract with Heung-Min Son as we move towards the start of a new season and a new chapter for the Club with Nuno Espirito Santo,” he said.
“Everyone can see the real positive impact he has on the club, both on and off the field, and we are delighted that he will play a part in what we are trying to achieve in the coming years.”

And Son was equally happy to extend his stay at Tottenham, insisting it was an easy decision in the end.
“It was already a big honour to play here for six years, the club have showed me massive, massive respect and obviously I’m very happy to be here,” he said.
“It’s like home, especially with the fans, the players, the staff. There was no decision. It was easy. I’m so happy to be here and will be so glad to see the fans again soon.”
Son’s contract announcement comes just after rumours broke that Manchester City are closing in to sign Harry Kane for £160million.
Reports have now emerged that Spurs’ stance on selling Kane hasn’t changed and they’re not entertaining the thought of him leaving.
But some Spurs fans have now questioned the timing of Son’s new contract and whether it’s because of the rumours around Kane.
One Spurs fan noted: “Convenient we announce on the day of the Kane rumours breaker.”
Another said: “Get in there with the good news first maybe?”

Another tweeted: “Good to see a player put speculation to bed.”
Kane is yet to return from his summer break following his exploits with England at Euro 2020.
He’s expected back next week and Nuno Espirito Santo has already made it clear that he plans to sit down with the Spurs vice-captain.
