Tottenham ‘make contact’ with Lukaku as steps put in place for Chelsea transfer
Harry Kane hints at future Tottenham return after completing Bayern Munich move
Tottenham have reportedly contacted Chelsea to sound out their interest in acquiring the services of Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian international is desperate to leave Stamford Bridge permanently this summer and he is not short of offers at this stage.
Spurs are expected to dip back into the transfer window this summer as Ange Postecoglou looks to recover from the hammer blow of having to green-light the departure of Harry Kane. The England international has joined Bayern Munich in a deal worth £100million and is expected to be replaced in North London.
Tottenham are set to invest their new-found funds in several departments, with another central defender a priority. With Richarlison now the only proven No 9 at the club, further additions in the final third are also anticipated.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Spurs have recently been in contact with Chelsea to sound out their interest in Lukaku and explore the possibility of acquiring his services. Tottenham are believed to have laid the foundations for further negotiations with the conversations, also putting a halt to Chelsea’s talks with Juventus.

The Blues have been locked in talks with the Serie A side over the past few weeks to explore the possibility of striking a player-plush-cash deal to sign Dusan Vlahovic, with Lukaku heading in the opposite direction. However, it is unclear as to whether Mauricio Pochettino is truly convinced by the credentials of the Serbia international.
Tottenham’s emergence will throw a spanner in the works for Juve, who were very keen on the deal. Though Chelsea may be pleased to simply receive a transfer fee for Lukaku which can be invested into alternative targets, such as midfield duo Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
