Tottenham on the verge of appointing Celtic’s Treble winning boss Ange Postecoglou as their head coach on an initial two-year deal… with confirmation likely within 48 hours

Tottenham are on the verge of appointing Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach.
Spurs’ move to appoint the Australian coach as Antonio Conte’s replacement has accelerated in the last 24 hours with Postecoglou now almost certain to be in situ in the coming days.
There is hope confirmation will arrive inside the next 48 hours.
It is understood that Postecoglou will sign an initial two year contract with Spurs, with the option for a further 12 months.
Mail Sport reported on Sunday that Tottenham were to make a formal approach to discuss their managerial vacancy with Postecoglou this week.

Postecoglou, who clinched the Scottish domestic Treble on Saturday, emerged as the lead contender for the Tottenham head coach’s job after their initial interest in Julian Naglesmann and Arne Slot stalled.
Luis Enrique and Fulham head coach Marco Silva – who Mail Sport revealed last month has a £6million release clause in his contract – also made the latter stages of the recruitment process.
But Postecoglou has significant support at Tottenham and is now set to take the reins.
