Tottenham transfer chief Fabio Paratici targets move for ex-Arsenal star

Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici is targeting a move for ex-Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, according to reports in Italy.

Paratici played a key role in Juventus’ decision to sign Ramsey on a free transfer from Arsenal in 2019.

But since moving to Serie A, Ramsey has struggled to make an impact and injuries restricted him to making just 14 starts for Juventus last season.

Juventus, who missed out on winning Serie A last term, are open to offloading Ramsey this summer and are keen to get his £250,000-a-week salary off their wage bill.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Paratici remains a huge admirer of Ramsey and is looking to bring the Wales international back to the Premier League with Tottenham.

The report claims that Wolves are also in the running to sign Ramsey having also expressed an interest.

Speaking ahead of Wales’ Euro 2020 campaign earlier this summer, Ramsey admitted that he was frustrated over his treatment at Juventus.

‘It has been a quite challenging time over the past couple of seasons,’ said the midfielder.

‘There have been many factors and changes that I haven’t been used to.

‘In the end now I have got my own team around me who are focused on me, to get myself into the best possible shape.

‘In the end now I have got my own team around me who are focused on me, to get myself into the best possible shape.

‘Football is a team sport and a lot of the time it is about the team and everybody doing the same things, when maybe some players need a bit more attention.

‘So I take it into my own hands and have the right people around me to try to come up with the best possible plan to get myself back into a place where I am feeling good and confident again.’
