One England star and two Premier League players have reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 after holidaying in Greece.
The news comes as most clubs have returned to training after a very short off season due to the schedule delays caused by the global pandemic.
Premier League clubs have begun pre-season training ahead of a return on September 12, while England will be in action a week before for a Nations League double header.
But Gareth Southgate has been rocked just days after the Harry Maguire fiasco as one of the members of his squad has tested positive for Covid-19 last week, according to the Sun.
The player in question is still expected to named in the squad for games against Iceland and Denmark on September 5 and 8 respectively.
Southgate names his squad on Tuesday, but will no doubt be frustrated that the player will have to slef-solate for ten days in line with government guidelines.
Meanwhile, Sheffield United have been handed a double blow with two of their players also contracting coronavirus while on holiday in Greece.
Chris Wilder’s pre-season plans will have to be amended to allow the unnamed pair to quarantine for a week and a half.
The Greek island of Mykonos was thrust into the headlines earlier this week after Manchester United captain Maguire was detained for fighting with fellow Brits and police.
The 27-year-old appeared twice in court before being allowed to fly home.

Southgate is said to be considering Maguire’s place in the England squad, while there are also questions surrounding his suitability as United captain.
His legal case could be wrapped up on Tuesday, which is when Southgate will name his squad for the trips to Iceland and Denmark.
