On paper, Manchester United have an exceptional squad of players with very few gaps to fill in terms of quality.
So it will be intriguing to see what moves – if any – the interim manager Ralf Rangnick makes in the transfer window during his spell in charge.
January may not be a month that's ideal for making sensible signings, but the Red Devils are still in contention for the Premier League's top four, the FA Cup and the Champions League too. With that in mind, if there's a deal to be done the Red Devils will surely jump at the chance.
Daily Star Sport has your latest United transfer rumours.
Red Devils a "contender" for Rudiger
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger is poised to be one of the most sought-after players in world football.
According to Sky Deutschland (h/t Sport Witness ), Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are all in contention for the Blues centre-back, as well as United.
The Red Devils spent big to bring Raphael Varane to the club in the summer, while they parted with a world-record fee for a defender to land Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
With that in mind, it would be a surprise to see the club go for Rudiger and for the player to make the switch to a Premier League rival such is the obvious affinity he has for Chelsea.

Atletico want Martial exchange deal
According to Eurosport, Atletico Madrid want to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United in a possible exchange deal.
The agent of the Red Devils forward confirmed the Frenchman is seeking to move on, as he has struggled for regular minutes this season.
"It is expected Atleti will reach out to United towards the end of the month to discover more about the situation and his valuation," said the report.
"But sources feel they will also ask if there are any players at the Wanda Metropolitano that they would be keen on taking in the other direction to help a deal open up."
Lingard to run down contract
According to the Manchester Evening News , midfielder Jesse Lingard will run down his contract at United before leaving on a free in the summer.
Given Lingard's contract situation, a number of clubs have been linked with a possible move for the England international in January, most notably Newcastle United.
However, even though United would be open to selling Lingard mid-season, the player himself is said to be ready to wait until the end of the campaign, where he can explore his options as a free agent.
Lingard excelled on loan at West Ham United last season, but he's struggled for minutes since returning to United, with competition fierce in attack after the signings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
