Gueye has been a standout player in the second division of French football this season, leading him to be handed the captain’s despite his young age.
He has been described as a combination between N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, given his playing style and physique.
Arsenal, Sevilla, AC Milan and Udinese were also said to be interested in the box-to-box man while Valencia took a close look at him last summer.
