Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham nightmare worsens again in front of visiting Tom Brady

NFL icon Tom Brady was in attendance to watch Wayne Rooney be booed by Birmingham City fans after yet another disappointing performance.

The 46-year-old made another appearance at St Andrews' but unfortunately for the Championship side, the presence of a seven-time Super Bowl champion couldn't inspire a win as The Blues earned just a point in their 0-0 draw with Rotherham on Saturday (December 2).

Brady – who became chairman of the club's advisory board in August after becoming a minority owner – appointed Rooney in October following the somewhat controversial sacking of John Eustace but it's yet to pay off following one win in eight games under the Manchester United's all-time record goalscorer.

The 38-year-old admitted his side were not up to par in the game, saying his side got "sloppy". "I thought we started the game really well for 20 minutes," the former England great said. "But we got sloppy, we got slow, and we created a lot of our own problems. We were probably fortunate in the end to come away with a point."

Rooney has had to endure a frosty reception from Birmingham fans since his arrival as supporters booing him after the draw just goes to show the displeasure surrounding the club and the team's current form.

One fan on social media said Birmingham's current form is "not good enough" as they wrote: "I'm trying so hard to be positive, but a draw with Rotherham is not good enough. I know Rooney needs his own players, but these players should be winning these types of games."

Another commented: "That was awful. I appreciate Rooney sets these lot up to play, but they're awful and quite clearly aren't capable of how Rooney wants to play." A third called for some of the players to depart in January's transfer window as they added: "Roll on, January, because some of these lot aren't fit to play football, never mind the shirt."

Birmingham's draw places them 15th in the table, a whopping nine places lower where they were when Rooney was appointed in October. Their away form has been the bane of their season, as they've lost seven of their nine games on the road.
